Indubbiamente i movimenti musicali più grossi che hanno dominato la storia della musica Rock e Metal provengono dall'Inghilterra e dagli USA. Infatti se si escludono alcune frange del Metal provenienti dalla Scandinavia (Black Metal, Death Melodico e Power Metal) e dalla Germania (Speed/Power Metal) tutti gli altri generi vedono band inglesi ed americane dominare.
